Brixham and Babbacombe had very bad vis reports so we decided to try a new site – Newton’s Cove, which is very close to Chesil Beach. Be careful of the big sucky thing in the middle of the site, marked by a buoy, as well as swimming too close to the pier which will anger the military somewhat. Nevertheless we got the training we wanted to do done and the vis was pretty nice further out (very bad close to the shore due to all the swimmers). Lots of life around as usual for summer diving and warm water! Shame someone had parked a container in front of the beach but never mind! On the way back we were treated to the beautiful site of the balloons taking off around Bristol plus an absolutely gorgeous sunset.
