Hey everyone, my name is Lewis, and I am this year\u2019s diving officer. I started with UBUC in my third year when I learnt to dive and have continued to be obsessed since then. In my role as Diving Officer, I am responsible for making sure that all diving activities\u00a0 from your very first dunk in the swimming pool to your 15m Dive Leader rescue are safe, well managed, and of course fun. Hey everyone! I\u2019m Steph, your training officer for the year, and I\u2019m really excited to get to know you all. I\u2019m currently a second-year vet student, which keeps me busy, but I love having diving as a way to balance out the studying. This year I\u2019m also working toward my Dive Leader qualification, so I\u2019ll be in the water a lot alongside you. I\u2019m looking forward to helping everyone build confidence, develop new skills, and most importantly, have fun with our training sessions<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Hi Everyone, I\u2019m Alex. I will be this year\u2019s Equipment Officer. I learned to dive with UBUC during my third year as an undergraduate and spent the previous two years as the club\u2019s Secretary and then Training Officer. I\u2019ve now stuck around to do a PhD, and as EO, I\u2019m responsible for ensuring all the equipment gets serviced and works correctly.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hi I\u2019m Orla! I\u2019m a third year biochemistry student who loves running, music and now scuba diving. I got my ocean diver qualification with UBUC and absolutely loved the experience. Hello and hello again! I\u2019m Cian, one of your social secretaries! I\u2019m a 2nd year Management Innovation student and I\u2019ve fallen in love with diving after getting my (underwater) sea legs last year. I aspire to someday find a pineapple under the sea and shake the hand of the sponge within. But anyway \u2013 I love good fun and club socials, so am very excited to put some events together and enjoy them with you all. I see it as a moral obligation to force everyone to be friends so if someone starts drowning you feel greater personal responsibility to save them. Hello everyone, I\u2019m Luis and I\u2019m excited to introduce myself as the new Boats Officer! I\u2019ve been a proud member of UBUC since 2022 and am a third-year mechanical engineering student, so I like to think I know my way around a boat (or at least how to fix one!). When I\u2019m not submerged in textbooks or the ocean, you might find me tinkering with engines to get them up and running \u2013 or at least attempting to. I\u2019m looking forward to many exciting and safe expeditions with all of you so here\u2019s to smooth sailing and even smoother diving!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
