2013-03-05 Tim Walsh Stored fuel especially 2-stroke degrades over time. In order to encourge members to minimise the amount of fuel stored, club policy is to have an empty to empty strategy meaning that any fuel remaining at the end of the trip represents wasted expense to the trip goers. However sensible voyage planning means that boats must come back with sufficient reserve of fuel to handle any contingencies. As cars are not designed to run on 2-stroke and it cannot be disposed of in any legal manner or safely and legally stored within students own accomodation this reserve must be stored until the next trip. The storage of any quantity of fuel incurs legal issues with which we need to be complient.
