Five of us headed to Brixham Breakwater — four divers and a shore marshall — with Matt and Steph jumping in for a fun dive whilst Will and Ellie focused on training. Conditions were relatively calm at first but the wind soon picked up. Visibility wasn’t great either — at times you could barely see your own hand! Still, Will and Ellie powered through, finishing most of OO3 and OO4 on their first dive.
After a quick surface interval, it was clear the weather wasn’t going to improve. As Matt, Steph and Sophie settled in on shore, Will and Ellie braved the elements to run through some CBLs. Despite the murky water, choppy surface and record breaking 5 minute training dive, Ellie exited as a fully qualified Ocean Diver! We all packed up and celebrated with some well-earned grub at a nearby café, where we started plotting the next day’s adventure (Thurlstone!).
