UBUC recognises its responsibility to dive not only for enjoyment, but to help protect the marine environment. We are in a unique position as a large club to take proactive steps to incorporate sustainability into all of our trips, supporting local groups and charities with our large member base.
As part of BSAC’s ‘Diving with a Purpose’ initiative, we intend to become more involved with:
- Litter cleanup
- Seagrass restoration
- Underwater surveying
- Seaweed farming
- Lobster release
