7 of us at UBUC ventured to Devon on an early Saturday morning for a shore dive at Babbacombe beach. After setting up the kit we split the OD’s and trainee ODs into groups to practice some diving. For many of these divers it was two years In the making and the scenery didn’t disappoint; a plethora of lobsters, shrimps and inquisitive crabs lay within the fluorescent coral. Word must have reached Babbacombe that UBUC had arrived, for the resident seal decided to come out and join us on our second dive and we had the pleasure of diving alongside him. After a splendid day underwater, we packed up and drove back to Bristol (ensuring that Emma woke up from her nap to the sound of Whitney Houston) and then joined committee for a lovely meal at the pub.
